12 of 12 - February 2011

DSCN0989
The 12th of February was a Saturday.  I started my morning by cleaning off the kitchen counter.  It desperately needed it.

Melissa and I went to the Rockyard for lunch.  We didn't get great service today, but the food always makes up for it.

Melissa and I then went to see the King's Speech.  A very good movie - interesting to see this sort of story from the British point of view.
DSCN0992
Because of all of the bad weather recently, the windshield wiper fluid needed to be refilled.

While Melissa and I were at lunch and the movie, the kids stayed with Kathryn A.  Among other things, they played Mousetrap.  Since Kathryn needed to get home, I finished up the game for her.  This was the results, Kathryn and I were red.  Trina was yellow.

Before bed, the kids had their bath.
DSCN0999
While Alex took his bath, Trina played on the computer.
DSCN0995
I had a small snack.
DSCN0996
I got my pajamas on.
DSCN0997
We read some of our evening book.
DSCN0998
We recently added saying this verse to Alex's bedtime routine so that he would be able to fall asleep more quickly.

And Melissa finished the day by reading some on her new Kindle.

12 of 12 - January 2011

DSCN0893
The 12th of January was a Wednesday, so I started out my morning by teaching class.  The students used Microsoft Word to create a menu.  Today was the first day of a 2 day assignment.

After class, since it was so close to the beginning of they semester, I needed to run my usual script to create student folders on the server.  This is the list of things that I needed to do manually after the script had run.

On of the projects that I got to work on today was a laptop cart that wasn't getting power even when plugged in.  If you look closely at the plug, there's quite a bit of carbon scoring on the ends of the plug.  So we replaced the plug and all was fine.  And I got this nifty Polish power tester - win/win!

Last night we had undecorated the tree and so it was bare and waiting to be disposed of when I got home.
DSCN0897
Through my day, I realized that I forgot to eat lunch.  Melissa had made some chicken salad, so I threw some on some bread and had a small sandwich.

Tonight was youth.  Normally this year, we have been at the Cherry Creek house, however since they had finals this week, it was cancelled.  So instead, we went to the Farrells' house and hung out with some other great students that we hadn't connected with much this year.
DSCN0899
A favorite sight for me when visiting the Farrell Casa:  The pile of shoes by the door.  I don't know why I always think that this is so fun, I just do!  And it's my blog, so deal with it!  :)

With the tree gone, the music room was returned back to its standard disarray.
DSCN0901
Got to enjoy a little light reading after they kids went to bed.  Still hoping for an upcoming opportunity at becoming the Director of Technology Services for the district.
DSCN0902

Heading up to bed, I needed 3 final pictures to round out the 12 of 12.  Here's the set of Christmas cards that we got this year.
DSCN0903
This was a Lego project that was on the floor.  Alex is really getting more creative with his creations.

Grab a quick bedtime snack and off to bed!

12 of 12 - December 2010

DSCN0760
Started out the morning feeding the fish.
DSCN0762
After church we went to the Farrells' house for a youth leader Christmas party.  Always fun to play with the toys at the Farrells' house.
DSCN0763
Lots of wonderful food at the party!
DSCN0771
Melissa won a prize for knowing her Christmas movie facts.  (Yay?)
DSCN0764
Mark showing off his mad stacking skillz!
DSCN0765
And some delicious dessert at the party too!
DSCN0768
Tonight was pastor Todd's last night leading worship at Elevation.  Sort of an inside joke, but Melissa brought her flag to participate in worship.
DSCN0769
Trina also likes to play with mom's flag.
DSCN0770
On the way home, we stopped for gas.
DSCN0773
Tonight I got to listen to my favorite Christmas song to get me in the Christmas spirit:  Green Chri$tma$.
DSCN0776
Before going to bed I finished up a Conceptis.com Pic-a-Pix puzzle.

12 or 12 - November 2010

DSCN0662Unfortunately, today started with waking up several times throughout the night reaching for cough drops.  So, sadly, it was appropriate that the cough drops be the first picture on the 12 of 12.

DSCN0663
At school today, in class, we started the Hangman project.  Hangman is not at all a simple project, especially for introductory students.  They seem to be doing quite well on it though!

DSCN0664
One of the projects that I got to see some finality to today was this laptop.  The hard drive was not connecting to the mother board properly.  I got to return this one 3 different times before it was repaired correctly.  Today, it seems to be working.

DSCN0667
Another project that I got to do today was related to a smart board.  Unfortunately, while the custodial staff was cleaning this particular room, they felt it was necessary to unplug absolutely everything.  It took about 2 hours to get everything reconnected and working properly again.

DSCN0665
At the end of the school day, I went into the office and found that the intercomm system was beeping.  They had tried everything to get it to stop.  Eventually, I got to walk to the south building and unplug the intercomm system completely.  That got it to stop.  There's got to be a better solution somewhere.

DSCN0668
Another fun moment of my school day was setting up a web site for the upcoming MDA Jail fundraiser coming up.  December 9th, I'm going to an Applebee's Jail unless I raise $1500 bail for MDA.  It should be fun, but the start of this process has been pretty annoying.

DSCN0669
Alex and Mom read The King of Pizza today.  It, of course, has a recipe for pizza in the back.  So guess what we had for dinner!

DSCN0670
Before we got to enjoy our evening the kids needed to do their chore of folding socks.  It eventually got done so that we could move forward with out night.

DSCN0674
This was a fun picture of the kids watching Pippi Longstockings.  Pizza, a movie and a working fireplace.  All in all, it was a good night.

DSCN0675
After Pippi, the kids somehow convinced us to watch a little bit of a Tom and Jerry movie.

DSCN0679
After the movies, we all got to go upstairs and Mom read us a short book.

DSCN0680
After the kids went to bed, Melissa and I stayed up to watch Commentary: The Musical.  I like the Commentary, but Melissa prefers the Sing Along Blog.
